Being able to hold our meetings on Zoom since April 2020 has been a godsend, and we have been able to invite amazing people from across the country to come and speak to our lovely members, but we have really missed that human contact that plays an important part at our meetings. Sitting and chatting with friends whilst enjoying a cup of something and nibbling a slice of delicious homemade cake has been sorely missed. Zoom is great but it's not easy to chat to each each other virtually. I can't say that we will miss having to mute and popping a virtual hand up when we want to say something!
This month we were finally able to meet up face to face. As it's summer we decided to hold the meeting outside. Rather than sitting in a socially distanced space all evening, everyone was sent off in small groups on a walking scavenger hunt. The hunt was brilliant fun and it was lovely to meet up afterwards for a long overdue chat.
After our August break, we plan to return to the hall and meet "in the flesh" again. Our member's safety is paramount and measures will be put in place to ensure that happens. We really look forward to welcoming back old faces and would love to see new ones too. Roll on September the 14th!
